A Brief History of Our Company
We've been supplying components to manufacturers and industries for over 50 years, which is a long time for any technology business.

Jay Engineering was established in 1946 as a "Manufacturer Representative" company. We market electrical, mechanical, and electronic components throughout the midwest region for a variety of manufacturers.

In 1964, Related Components was established by Jay Engineering to fill the role of a "Distributor" of components. This subtle difference in our business relationship with manufacturers allowed us to greatly expand the brands and products we are able to supply our customers. Related also brings an engineering orientation to our customer service, with the expertise on staff to help create design solutions and consider component alternatives for our customers. This provides both superior end products for our customers, as well as increased efficiency and economy in the production process.

Jay Engineering and Related Components operate as separate companies - but are able to supply components to the same customers. Jay and Related maintain their own separate inventories of non-competing product lines.

Our current owners - who are engineers themselves - purchased Jay and Related in 1977, and have continued to increase our product and brand selections, plus our level of service to our customers.
